The vital parts for every location aware application are acquiring and consuming data from different positioning systems. There are several positioning technologies that can be employed in order to obtain an estimate of user’s location. These technologies can be evaluated based on availability, accuracy and cost.
Have your say on the Vodafone Location Privacy Design Principles.
Location-aware applications can be some of the most useful available. But the use of location data can also be controversial. Certain ways to use location could put user privacy at risk.
To help make sure that the applications on our platform respect user privacy, you’re subject to our Location Privacy Design Principles. But we understand that as location-based services develop, we’ll need to be flexible and responsive, so we don’t impede innovation.
Over the next few pages, we’ll walk through the principles and ask you questions about whether they work for you and your applications. We’ll try to incorporate your feedback into the principles and the additional guidance and templates we’ll make available soon.
