Each week during the competition, three netbooks (Samsung NC20) bundled each with a Nokia N96 handset, will be awarded to the three best new widgets entered into the Competition (on Betavine) and uploaded to the Vodafone widgets developer platform.
Running from 6th July to the 30th August, the Summer of Widgets competition will offer three prizes every week to the developers who have submitted the best widgets based on easy of use, creativity and value to the potential user.

Betavine, Vodafone’s mobile developer community, is offering weekly prizes to mobile developers throughout July and August in its Summer of Widgets competition.
Mobile widgets are mini applications that sit on a handset and can be personalised to retrieve relevant information from the web. They provide ‘always on’ services based on the information users want to receive, and are a new touch point for how consumers use the mobile internet.
Widgets are based on web code rather than on specialist programming language, which makes it possible for both professional and amateur developers to tap into their potential.
Running from 6th July to the 30th August, the Summer of Widgets competition will offer three prizes every week to the developers who have submitted the best widgets.
Entrants will be able to submit widgets from 00.01 (BST) every Monday until midnight (BST) the following Sunday during the competition. Entries will be judged on the Monday and the winners announced at midday each Tuesday here on Betavine.
All developers submitting widgets into this competition must also submit their widgets to http://widget.vodafone.com/dev/ and select all markets for distribution.
