By uploading their widgets via the Betavine Widget Zone, developers are able to use the Vodafone Widget Manager Beta as a distribution channel to reach Vodafone customers.
Vodafone Widget Manager Beta is currently compatible with 10 popular S60 handsets across the UK, Spain, Germany and Italy, with South Africa due to launch next month – a potential audience of around 1 million customers. Vodafone Widget Manager Beta is a free application available for customers to download from Vodafone live!
For more information on widgets – including a new tutorial on creating them from scratch and the terms and conditions under which widgets will be accepted for distribution – visit the Betavine Widget Zone.
And don’t forget that the Betavine Widget Competition 2009 is well underway and open for entries. If you want a chance to showcase your widget creations and win £20,000 in the process, make sure you enter. The deadline is the end of April.
we know about the issue that there's no developer client ready yet, that's why we work on this full speed and will release a developer version and other stuff pretty soon.

Congratulations on opening the Betavine Widget Zone-store for business ;-)
Unfortunately the "Vodafone Widget Manager Beta" is not yet available through Vodafone live! in the Netherlands.
Is it possible that a download to the VF Widget Manager Beta is made available through the Betavine site so I can do all my testing on my mobile with the Widget Manager that the widgets will eventually run in?
Currently I'm using the "Opera Widgets Manager for S60" but I'm running into some unexplainable crashes every now and then with a new widget I'm working on. So I'd like to know if those are bugs that have been removed/fixed in the VF Widget Manager and see if my application works fine (the widget doesn't crash on the PC widget browser from Opera by the way).
Cheers,
Ernst
